James Fish Farm @Kudat, Sabah.

James Fish Farm

Scuba diving is the most common way to experience the excitement of swimming with fishes. But if you are not a diver, a half-day trip at James Fish Farm in Kudat will give similar experience.

Located at the mid sea off Kampung Tampakan, the farm can be accessed via 10-minute boat ride from Marina jetty.

According to its staff, the fish farm had offered such an experience since 2018 but it was closed temporarily since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It reopens early November 2021 and is offering RM168 per adult for half-day trip at the farm. The package includes insurance, boat transfer, snorkelling, feeding fish, swimming with fish and feasting 7-type of seafood, 2 veggies and 1 assorted fruits.

Although the rate is slightly higher, but my husband, 8-year-old daughter and I are satisfied customers.

Kid loves swimming, non-diver husband likes the unique experience to be with at least 4-year-old trevally fish which each of them weighs about 30kg. As for me, I enjoy chowing down bountiful food after lots of calories burn during swimming midsea and with the fish.

Seafood served fresh and delicious.

I must say the cooking method of simple steam and stir fry with minimal flavouring enhances the freshness of seafood.
