Travelling during the recovery of Covid-19 pandemic was indeed a bliss. If there are choices, I would prefer to go to places where there are less people. It was in 2021, we decided to check into this hotel listed under Oyo booking platform.
If I am not mistaken, prior to Covid-19, I knew many friends and families went to this place but never really asked how it was.
As we drove from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat, we thought that it would be better to drive to this hotel as it seemed doable in the Google Map. Fortunately, further reading on reviews suggested to take a 10-minute boat from the esplanade to hotel would be a better choice rather than driving.
We learned that other guests checking in on the same day as us, who chose to drive, arrived much later at night.
The hospitality was not so good that time, as it is understandable that many staff were laid off and maintenances was the last thing being considered by the operators.
It was quite a hassle to carry our own luggage from the car to boat and to the hotel. It was even more inconvenient as we were also bringing a child with us. After we got down from the boat, there was about 500 metres walk from the jetty to the reception. From there, we needed to climb up to our hotel located further up.
There are not many things to do here. But luckily the internet line was okay, and we still could stream some movies during nighttime.
