Kids would love to be at Marine Ecology Research Centre @Gaya island.

Bree has been wanting to see real marine life under the sea. But, as she could not swim nor dive, Bree always think that by using a binocular will help her to see them.

Look at her, she is enjoying observing and touching live marine creatures ie starfish and sea cucumber kept at Gayana Resort's Marine Ecology Research Centre which is about 20-minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu town.

I brought her during media familiarisation trip. As she is the only kid in that trip, the Research Center ambassador  Lizio Godfrey gave Bree "an express pass" to plant her first coral.

After everyone had their chance to do the same thing, Bree requested to have a picture with her baby coral.
                                                                        Gloomy weather.

Bree remains cheerful as she gets to learn from real things.

Can you spot "ice cream"? Bree asked why the globe/earth is melting like ice cream. It is the
         global warming effect.

At the research center display room, Bree gets to see her favourite fish which is the overprotective clownfish over its anemone. She gets very interested as I tell her what I know about the marine species.

Rest assure, the research center has brilliant and young marine biologists who will tell even more interesting stories about marine ecosystem. During my visit, I learn new thing on how to differentiate hard and soft corals, too.

If you plan for an educational day trip to island, Gayana marine or Bunga Raya  resort is the place to go.

I attached the leaflet for price, itinerary and lunch menu reference.
