Attended recently concluded 2019 Borneo Coffee Festival held at Suria Sabah shopping mall on Nov 5-8.
It was a busy weekend for me. But managed to squeeze in an hour to visit the festival.
Spent extra time at Flair Espresso booth whereby the vendor came all the way from Singapore to promote its Manual Espresso Press.
What is special about this booth, they prepared Vietnamese Egg Coffee at the price of RM10 per teacup.
Heard about Egg Coffee before, but it was the first time I tried out the drink. Some say that the brew was different from the ones in Vietnam.
It was prepared at the counter.
These were the steps that I observed- mixed two raw eggs, cheese and condensed milk in a pitcher. After that, the extracted espresso was poured into tea cup before the said mixture. My egg coffee was then garnished with grind nutmeg.
After barista served the coffee, he taught me the proper way to drink it, which is to taste the espresso below the "tiramisu". My serving also came with tiramisu-flavored toffee which perfected my coffee appreciating session.
But, of course, the experience of appreciating coffee is always pleasant if there is a good connection between those who brew and drink coffee.
All the way from Indonesia promoting their coffee beans. Too bad that there were no drinks made on the last day of the festival. Managed to smell the aromas only.
Doing the coffee drill. Don't you think that barista has that kind of macho aura? |
People of Sabah, who does not like DESA products that come from Sabah's New Zealand in Kundasang? The diary company has their own milk, yogurt and ice-cream. Starting December, they have their own cheese products. Yummy.
What a beautiful 3D Jelly cake. How to eat if they are so pretty?
