2019 did not just slip through my fingers. Yay

I normally do not set any resolutions early of the year. I just follow the flows, constantly doing whatever is good for personal and professional development. Whatever challenges thrown at me, I will turn it into an opportunity.

My priority or top on list has always been how much daughter Bree has grown up. This year she turns 6 and decided to have "Ladybug" theme for her birthday party at school. Am happy that she did not fall sick so frequent, so I wouldn't have to worry so much.

I never thought that I would have two half-marathon events to run this year. Since both - Borneo International Marathon and Kuching International Marathon- were both sponsored, so, why not? I just had to spare some (significant amount) of time to train. I realised that age did catch up with my performance, I had to have better preparation in terms of training and diet.

Because of Kuching Marathon, I got to see the city.

Passed my Advanced Diving licence. Although I did not log 100 dives, but that time, a friend said it was a 50 per cent off course, then, why not?

I made it to the peak for the first time in my 31 years as a Sabahan. I enjoyed more of my physical and mental ability to overcome tiredness and hardship throughout the journey, instead of the views. I know I should have slow down a bit to appreciate everything, instead of thinking..."Oh...there are just rocks" or "The sun is too closed with me from the Aki Nabalu peak, gotta get sunburn".

My acclimatization before heading back to Panalaban rest house.  This remnant of deadly earthquake did interest me to try to "playback" what happened during that time.

A mission meant an opportunity to train with other media comrades. Our training two weeks prior to the climbing.

Passed refresher course for first aider. The two-day course costs me about RM200. But, totally worth it.

Am at Grade 3 for drum and performed at stage during the academy's Christmas Showcase 4.0.

A valuable experience/knowledge during a workshop organised by US Embassy-MPI which I learn that media are not supposed to be used by extremists to get popular among readers. I can't believe that IS truly exist(ed) and they had their supporters.

Hi Fat Bidin. Former New Straits Times Business reporter turned columnist turned documentary production.

I am surprised too that I actually traveled to many places this year which include Johor Bahru (for Lego Land); Brunei; Cabana resort in Kota Belud; Kundasang, Ranau: Kuching; Mabul and Bum Bum island in Semporna.

                                                                       Brunei

                                           Mengkabong, Tuaran

                                                       Kudat

                                                         Labuan

                                                        Ranau

Mari Mari Cultural Village in Kionsom, Sabah

                                     Barefoot Cabin in Bingkor, Keningau.

This year, I also met and befriend with an awesome man from Tawau who discovered world's tallest tree in Danum Valley Conservation centre.

Childhood friend Angela gave birth to first child. But, this same year, we also lost our dear friend to blood infection.

My one-decade friendship with ex-colleagues from Insight Sabah. The first company I worked as a journalist.

During 2019 Kinabalu Press Awards, NST colleague Avila and I won the Journalism Awards for         wildlife conservation special report.

Good media friends that always have been nice to each other.

Note: I never wish the following year will be better or good to me, instead, I always tell myself to be brave, courageous, never give up, choose happiness no matter what might happen.
