Accountant turned celebrity pastry chef Raymond Tan awed hotels with pretty desserts.

A Klang boy now Melbourne-based celebrity chef Raymond Tan showcases
the magic of putting some artistic touch on cake Popsicle.

The accountant-turned-chef, 32, found his passion in making pretty pastry four years
ago while doing his Master’s degree in accounting Melbourne-based celebrity baker Raymond Tan,
fondly known as Ray Ray, presented a cake Popsicle demonstration at
Promenade Cafe at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu.

He said it was his first time in east coast of Malaysia. Although he wanted to try all the good food and
cafes here, managed to try all kind of noodles except laksa. Know what, he likes the Filipino's market.

Inspired by Australia s desserts, his signature desserts include Christ moose Cake Popsicles, Upside Down Santa Hat, Spiced Pumpkin Pie and Candy Cane Wagon Wheel- which will be featured in Promenade Cafe's International Buffet Dinner's spread throughout the month of December.

Raymond specialises in celebration cakes and desserts, experiential dessert designs and has traveled to Paris, Singapore, Taipei, Bangkok, Jakarta and Seoul for demonstrations, workshops,
and collaborative work.

The launch was followed by a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony where the guests were also
treated to a Christmas caroling session from SDA Menggatal and a Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner
at Promenade Cafe hosted by Promenade Hotel.
