Two-day work trip to look for rural tourism products in Kota Marudu and Pitas.

          Piniapat Hill

First stop is Piniapat hill at Kampung Dingai, Pitas. Apart from the flowery landscape, this hill is also overlooking the Marudu sea.

The 15-acre land, located above 141metre from the sea level, is divided among four siblings. That is how the hill is named "Piniapat", which means "divided into four" in Dusun language.

According owner Rhappindy Maibin (contact 013-6031936), the site was opened to public on Dec 27, 2018 where there were up to 100 visitors during weekends before the closure in 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

This place is easy to hike, I walked around with non-hiking shoes. The entrance fee is RM2 per person.

Second stop was Marudu Bay Homestay in Kota Marudu

The homestay is located in Goshen Village. It takes about 2.5 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu. The village is surrounded by agriculture products and fruit trees.
